Whirlpool Dryer Won’t Start or Won’t Heat? A Tripped Safety Fuse Is Often the Cause (Model WED75HEFW1)

If your Whirlpool WED75HEFW1 suddenly will not start, or it runs but stops making heat, the cause is often a tripped safety fuse. Why a Tripped Fuse Points to a Bigger Cause

A safety fuse does not fail on its own for no reason. It trips because the temperature climbed past a safe limit. The usual triggers:

Restricted venting or lint buildup. This is the most common cause. A clogged lint screen, a crushed vent hose, or a blocked exterior vent flap traps heat inside the dryer.
A failed thermostat or heating element. A stuck thermostat or a shorted element can let temperatures run away.
Poor airflow through the drum. Overloading or a blocked air path keeps hot air from moving out.

Replace only the fuse and skip the cause, and the dryer will run for a while, then trip again, often within weeks.

Other Reasons a Dryer Won’t Start

A blown thermal fuse is not the only no-start cause. A technician also checks:

Door switch. The dryer will not start if the door is not fully latched.
Push-to-start switch. A worn start switch may not signal the dryer to run.
Drive motor. A failed motor may hum or stay silent instead of starting.
